After living in San Diego for these many years I now realize that this recipe is what is now called salsa. The recipe is from a family friend of my grandparents. He had his own business and sold this sauce along with some barbecue sauces for many years. When he finished his business he gave good friends the recipes. The sauce was always a favorite of my Dad's when we used to visit my grandparents in the summer.

This is a very easy recipe to put together with the only challenge being cooking the chicken. With microwaves now available it should be easy to cook up your chicken quickly for this recipe

This is another family recipe from my great grandmother. This one was popular for family gatherings, church potlucks and other events where a lot of food was needed. This recipe makes up two casserole dishes worth. The recipe stores well and can even be frozen for later use.

This recipe is one my great grandmother provided to my mother. My Mom was having a lot of trouble trying to make pies and get the crust right but with this recipe it got a lot easier. Still a bit challenging in getting the crust rolled out and in the pan but easier than the recipes my Mom had tried to use before this.

During the 70's there was a time when it was popular to make up powdered mixes, similar to store mixes, to use in cooking. My Mom had an entire cookbook for the subject and we tried several different recipes. One of our favorites was this Cocoa Mix for cold winter days and nights while we lived in Denver.
